Job Purpose
The Senior Linguist will act as an expert linguist in one or more verticals, such as Business, Consumers or E-commerce, ensuring assigned tasks and projects are completed to the highest linguistic standard, resolving questions and language-related matters in coordination with QC Leads, while supporting the optimization of CAT tools and linguistic assets (such as glossaries and reference materials) and collaborating with other linguists and project managers from different verticals.  
 
 
Duties & Responsibilities
Acting as a subject-matter expert in one or more verticals, such as Business, Consumers or E-commerce, providing guidance and support to other linguists and project managers on technical, industry and country-specific terminologies. 
Reviewing translations completed by other linguists to ensure adherence to client-specific glossaries, style guides, and linguistic best practices.
Assisting in the development and maintenance of client-specific translation TMs and glossaries to ensure consistency and accuracy across projects and over time.
Validating glossary sheets initiated by Linguists per task; providing alternative terms when necessary and seeking approvals from QC Leads and clients.
Assisting in the implementation of new processes and procedures to improve the efficiency and quality of translation workflows, leveraging emerging technologies and tools where appropriate.
Leading projects and serving as the point of contact for clients if needed, ensuring high-quality deliverables are met on time.
Ensuring the translated document is client-ready by addressing mistranslation or literal translation, lack of research, spelling and grammar issues, typos and inconsistencies while researching industry-specific terminology and enhancing the translator’s work.
Reporting the following issues by filling out the Reviewers Feedback Form after each task, including but not limited to, CAT tools issues, stylistic enhancement required, accuracy and general quality concerns and delivery-related issues.
Collaborating with other linguists and project managers to identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in the translation workflow. 
 
Education, Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in linguistics, language studies, or a related field.
Knowledge of language testing and assessment methodologies.
Approximately 10 years of experience in a language-related industry or a quality control role.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
Great Knowledge of CAT tools.
Excellent MTPE (Machine Translation Post Editing) skills.
