JOB PURPOSE
Install, repair, fabricate, and replace the sheet metal components of an aircraft, including various structural assemblies and sub-assemblies. Perform complex structural repairs to keep aircraft up to specifications and fabricate replacement parts for aircraft as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Replace or repair worn or damaged structural surfaces on the airframe and nacelles according to the maintenance data (SRM, CMM, EM, Drawings, specs, ..)
• Cleans corrosion and treats metal surfaces per the manufacturer’s instructions and specifications.
• Performs and demonstrates understanding of sealing procedures of aircraft structures
• Receive technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician.
• Perform major airframe repairs and modifications according to the maintenance data.
• Use applicable airframe repair procedures and/or approved engineering procedures in performance of tasks resulting in safe, mission ready aircraft.
• Read dials, gauges, identify small objects, and use hand tools.
• Analyze and understand aircraft Drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals to make repair
• Ensure all repairs are airworthy and according to the manufacturer specifications
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities within the scope of his job
• Adhere to company and dep. Approved system, policies and procedures in perform his duties.
• Participate effectively in environmental protection programs (energy and water saving, water segregation...etc.) and notify for any environmental related nonconformities
QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma in Mechanical engineering or any related field.
• Basic metallic structures course
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
• Fresh Graduate at entry level OR D + 6 years’ experience OR D + C-QA authorization + 4 years’ experience or D + 3 years’ experience OR CARC/EASA + 2 years’ experience OR CARC & EASA + 1-year experience or D + 2 years’ experience OR D + CARC/EASA
• Knowledge of EASA regulations PART 145
• Knowledge of metal, alloys, aircraft adhesives, and sealants
• Knowledge of the use, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials
• Must have basic knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair.
• Must have basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Use measuring instruments such as rulers and grip gauges
• Utilize hand and powered tools such as hammers, chisels, hand snips, band and circle saws, drill presses, squaring shears and brakes to cut and form
• Determine different types of fasteners used by symbol
• Good command in English language
• Ability to assemble parts by, bolting, screwing, and riveting
• Ability to perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical area
