Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with proven experience in the retail industry to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing general accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic financial decisions. A deep understanding of retail-specific accounting processes such as inventory management, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and cost control is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Oversee general ledger accounting functions, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
Manage the accounting for inventory, COGS, and shrinkage in coordination with store operations.
Analyze margins, sales performance, and promotional impact across retail channels.
Support the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Ensure timely closing of books and preparation of financial reports in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, operations, and HR for accurate financial data.
Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements to financial processes.
Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax authorities when needed.
Maintain and improve ERP and POS system integrations for efficient data flow.
Supervise junior accountants or finance officers as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a retail environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, retail operations, and inventory management.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and Excel.
Experience with POS systems and retail analytics tools is a strong advantage.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
