The School Nurse provides healthcare services to students and staff, promoting a healthy school environment. This role includes administering first aid, managing chronic conditions, maintaining health records, and educating the school community on wellness practices. The School Nurse works closely with staff, parents, and external healthcare providers to ensure the physical and mental well-being of all students.

Key Responsibilities
1. Health Services and Care
Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff as needed.
Manage and monitor chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies among students.
Administer medications and treatments according to prescribed guidelines and school policies.
Conduct health assessments, screenings, and referrals for further medical attention.
2. Health Education and Promotion
Educate students, staff, and parents on health topics, including hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
Promote wellness programs and initiatives within the school community.
Collaborate with teachers to integrate health education into the curriculum where applicable.
3. Recordkeeping and Compliance
Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students, including immunizations and medical histories.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national health regulations and school policies.
Prepare and submit health reports to school leadership and health authorities as required.
 
4. Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with parents, teachers, and administrators to address health concerns and develop care plans.
Serve as a liaison between the school and external healthcare providers or organizations.
Participate in staff meetings and contribute to school-wide health and safety initiatives.
5. Emergency Preparedness
Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans for the school.
Train staff on health-related topics, including CPR, first aid, and allergy management.
6. Additional Duties
Monitor and report communicable diseases and other health concerns within the school.
Oversee the maintenance and stocking of medical supplies and equipment.
Perform other health-related duties as assigned by the school administration.
