Purpose:
The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the accounting department, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves managing the organization’s financial statements, coordinating audits, and implementing accounting policies.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
Ensure timely and accurate financial data in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
Provide financial insights to management for decision-making.
Supervise and manage the accounting team.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including A/Pthe , and general ledger.
Ensure proper recording of transactions and adherence to accounting procedures.
Coordinate internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, filing requirements, and government policies.
Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Lead the annual budgeting process.
Provide financial forecasts and variance analysis against budget.
Monitor cash flow and recommend improvements.
Experience and Requirements:
Proven experience in a leadership role within the finance/accounting department.
Experience with financial analysis, reporting, and auditing.
Proficiency in accounting software SAP.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Knowledge of data analysis tools like Power BI.
Strong understanding of IFRS and GAAP.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
English language proficiency.
