Job Summary

IT Strategy and Management:

  • Lead and assist in large IT projects, including system design and deployment.
  • Contribute to defining IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes.
  • Monitor IT system performance, assess cost-effectiveness, and propose improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and develop IT solutions.
  • Participate in the training and support of IT staff.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure policies.
  • Analyze resource utilization and propose strategies for optimization.
  • Contribute to the management of development projects for integrating new technologies into existing systems.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for hardware, software, and network components.

 

IT Support and Security:

  • Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software issues related to internal IT.
  • Participate in the assessment of vendors and the development of test strategies for new hardware and software.
  • Support network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure policies.
  • Collaborate with the help desk team to address user IT needs.
  • Gain experience in managing on-premises servers, SAN, and NAS devices.


Infrastructure Management and Security:

  • Assist in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Participate in the assessment of vendors and the development of test strategies for new hardware and software.
  • Collaborate in monitoring IT system performance and resource utilization for optimization.
  • Support the allocation of staff, costs, and schedules effectively.
  • Assist in conducting annual performance reviews for team members and providing guidance and support.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining a healthy work environment, monitoring staff morale, and addressing employee concerns.

 

Retail IT Management:

  • Contribute to managing inventory systems for efficient stock control.
  • Assist with e-commerce platform and online store operations.
  • Support CRM systems for customer loyalty and data analysis.
  • Contribute to maintaining and optimizing mobile applications for customers and employees.
  • Collaborate in the integration of POS systems with accounting software for financial reporting.
  • Stay informed about retail industry regulations and assist in ensuring compliance.
  • Participate in the assessment and adoption of innovative technology solutions to enhance operations and customer experience.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration and Compliance:

  • Assist in advocating for necessary regulatory changes related to IT.
  • Support the building and maintenance of relationships with public sector entities.
  • Contribute to aligning IT with the organization's overall strategic goals and profitability requirements.
  • Assist in updating job descriptions and scope of responsibilities in collaboration with the Director of Support Services.
  • Support the maintenance of safe and comfortable working conditions in business units.
  • Other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills – Selection Criteria

 

ESSENTIAL

PREFERRED

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, computer science, computer engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or relevant field, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

 

A Master’s in Data Analytics will be considered an asset.

 

 

Experience

  • Three or more years of experience mining data as a data analyst.
  • Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization.
  • Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations.

 

Certification and Licensure

  • Advanced degrees or professional certifications may be preferred.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Job-Specific Skills and Abilities

 

  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems.
  • Highly developed data skills - analysis, synthesis, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain a strong network of relationships within the industry.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
  • Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize.
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate potential risks.
  • Excellent business acumen and exposure to all areas of the retail business model.

 

  • Familiarity with our software platforms including Microsoft 365 (e.g., Power BI), ERP systems, Salesforce, and Azure Cloud.
  • Understanding of ETL framework and ETL tools including Alteryx and Microsoft SSIS.
