Role Purpose:
An AI Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing artificial intelligence systems and machine learning models that solve complex business problems. The role requires a strong foundation in computer science, mathematics, and engineering principles, along with hands-on experience in deploying AI-driven applications. AI Engineers collaborate with data scientists, product teams, and other stakeholders to build scalable and intelligent solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
AI System Development: Develop, test, and deploy machine learning, deep learning, and other AI algorithms to solve specific problems. This can include recommendation systems, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, predictive models, and more.
Data Analysis: Process, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and ensure that the models are built on high-quality, relevant data.
Model Building and Optimization: Design, train, evaluate, and fine-tune AI models. Ensure models are optimized for performance, scalability, and accuracy. Continuously improve model quality through iterative testing.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with product managers, software engineers, and data engineers to integrate AI solutions into products and services. Communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
Scalability and Deployment: Implement scalable AI models and machine learning systems that can be deployed into production. Work with DevOps teams to ensure that AI models are integrated into the cloud or on-premise infrastructure.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge:
- Education: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in the same field.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or C++. Experience with AI frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn) is essential.
- Strong skills in handling and processing large datasets using tools like pandas, NumPy, SQL, or Spark.
- Strong background in linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics, as these are critical for understanding machine learning algorithms and optimization techniques.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and tools for deploying machine learning models.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Good teamwork skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
