Job Summary/ Objectives:
The Accountant Officer plays a vital role in the finance team, reporting to the senior Accountant officer and contributing to the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of financial reports, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting various accounting functions. Engage in tasks such as reconciling accounts, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. The role requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and effective collaboration within the finance team to contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial reports, assisting in the analysis of financial data for reporting purposes.
- Reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments and receipts.
- Contribute to monitoring and managing company expenses, verifying the accuracy of expense reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and internal financial policies.
- Enter financial data into accounting systems, maintaining organized and efficient records.
- Maintain organized documentation and filing systems for financial records, facilitating easy retrieval and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and finance colleagues to address financial inquiries and support departmental goals.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
- Undertake ad hoc financial tasks and projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager to contribute to overall departmental efficiency.
- Any other Task assigned from your supervisor.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Required Competencies:
Accuracy in processing financial transactions and reconciling accounts.
