Job Title: Chief Accountant

Reporting To: General Manager / Senior Management


Role Overview 

The Chief Accountant is responsible for leading and managing the full finance and accounting function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, overseeing financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. The role supports senior management in financial decision-making, budgeting, compliance, and business planning, while supervising the finance team across different levels. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the full finance and accounting operations and ensure the accuracy of all financial records 
  • Lead and supervise the finance team, including the Accounting Supervisor, Senior Accountants, and Accountants 
  • Establish, implement, and monitor finance policies, procedures, and internal controls 
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and ensure deadlines are met 
  • Review and approve financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports 
  • Analyze financial performance and provide reports, insights, and recommendations to senior management 
  • Prepare, monitor, and control annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis 
  • Manage cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for business operations 
  • Review and approve tax reports and ensure compliance with tax regulations 
  • Oversee internal and external audit processes and coordinate with auditors 
  • Strengthen internal controls and manage financial risks 
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and ensure accuracy between Dubai and Amman operations 
  • Review contracts and agreements from a financial perspective and highlight potential risks Improve finance and accounting processes, systems, and reporting efficiency 
  • Oversee ERP system usage and ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data 
  • Coordinate with other departments to support operational and strategic decision-making 
  • Provide financial analysis and advisory support to senior management 
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and relevant authorities 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, IFRS, and company policies 
  • Lead finance transformation, automation, and process improvement initiatives 
  • Perform any additional strategic tasks or projects assigned by senior management 


Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. 
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in finance and accounting. 
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations, IFRS, financial reporting, budgeting, and full-cycle accounting. 
  • Proven experience leading finance teams and managing accounting operations. 
  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is preferred. 
  • Advanced experience with ERP systems such as Maxis Cloud or similar platforms. 
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills. 
  • High attention to detail with strong financial control and risk management ability. 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
