Technical Supervisor

Purpose

The Technical Supervisor will oversee departmental operations, ensuring efficient processes while managing technical staff and collaborating with other departments. This role focuses on troubleshooting issues and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse team of technicians and engineers, providing ongoing mentorship to enhance their skills and performance. 
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations to assess individual contributions and identify areas for professional development.
  • Manage daily technical operations, ensuring all projects are executed efficiently and within established deadlines and budgetary constraints. 
  • Implement project tracking tools to monitor progress and address any potential delays proactively.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and other departmental teams to ensure alignment on technical specifications and project timelines.
  •  Facilitate regular meetings to discuss project updates, challenges, and solutions to ensure cohesive progress.
  • Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Regularly review and update SOPs to reflect best practices and technological advancements.
  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during operations, utilizing systematic problem-solving techniques. 
  • Work with team members to implement corrective actions that minimize downtime and prevent recurrence of similar issues.
  • Organize and conduct regular training sessions to ensure all staff members are up-to-date with the latest technologies, tools, and best practices in the field. 
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust content based on feedback and industry trends.
  • Continuously monitor and assess the performance of technical systems and personnel. 
  • Use data-driven metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance overall team efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to all technical operations, including detailed reports, maintenance logs, and compliance records. 
  • Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for audits and reviews.
  • Ensure strict adherence to industry regulations and safety standards by conducting regular compliance audits and risk assessments. 
  • Develop action plans to address any identified gaps in compliance and promote a culture of safety within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in   Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical role, with a minimum of 2 years  in a supervisory or leadership position.
  • Proven experience managing technical projects from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in relevant technologies, tools, and software specific to the industry.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a diverse team of technical staff.
  • Experience in conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to assess technical performance and implement improvements.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance practices.
  • Ability to adapt rapidly changing technologies and industry trends.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
