Job Title: Dietitian

Job Summary:

The Dietitian is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating nutritional and dietary needs. They provide personalized nutrition advice and education to individuals and groups, aiming to promote health, prevent diseases, and manage medical conditions. This role may involve working in healthcare settings, schools, private practices, or food service environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct nutritional assessments to understand clients' health conditions and dietary habits.
  • Develop personalized meal plans tailored to the nutritional needs of individuals, based on their medical history, preferences, and goals.
  • Provide guidance on healthy eating habits, portion control, and dietary changes to improve health outcomes.
  • Monitor clients’ progress, adjusting diet plans and interventions as needed.
  • Educate clients and groups on the importance of balanced diets, healthy lifestyle choices, and how to prevent or manage nutrition-related conditions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, therapists) to manage and support patient care.
  • Stay updated with the latest nutritional science and dietary guidelines.
  • Offer counseling and support to patients dealing with specific conditions like diabetes, obesity, heart disease, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress and consultations.
  • Contribute to nutrition-related research and the development of educational materials.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and nutrition standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Licensed Dietitian (LD) certification (as required by local regulations).
  • Experience in clinical or community nutrition (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of dietary requirements, nutrition science, and food safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Working Conditions:

  • May work in hospitals, clinics, schools, private practices, or corporate wellness settings.
  • Flexible working hours may be required depending on client needs.
