Job Title: Accounting Supervisor 

Department: Finance 

Reporting To: Finance Manager / CFO 


Role Overview 

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supervising the day-to-day work of the accounting team (Accountants and Senior Accountants). The role ensures timely financial reporting, strong internal controls, and full compliance with UAE regulations and company policies. It also plays a key role in improving processes and supporting financial decision-making across Dubai and Amman operations. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Team Supervision & Leadership Supervise, guide, and review the work of Accountants and Senior Accountants 
  • Assign tasks, manage workload distribution, and ensure deadlines are met 
  • Review and approve accounting entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation prepared by the team 
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members 
  • Support performance evaluations and development planning for the accounting team 
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across the team
  • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure accurate recording of all transactions 
  • Review and validate RVs, PVs, and JVs prepared by the team 
  • Ensure proper posting and accuracy within the ERP system (Maxis Cloud or equivalent) 
  • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable processes for accuracy and efficiency 
  • Ensure proper handling of pending transactions, accruals, and non-invoiced services 
  • Lead and ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes 
  • Review and approve: 
    • Bank reconciliations 
    • Credit card reconciliations 
    • POS and cash reconciliations 
    • Intercompany reconciliations (Dubai & Amman) 
  • Ensure accuracy of financial reports before submission to management 
  • Oversee preparation of management reports, including P&L and balance sheet summaries 
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly closing packs 
  • Ensure full compliance with UAE VAT regulations and financial reporting standards (IFRS) 
  • Review and approve VAT reports before submission to tax authorities 
  • Strengthen and monitor internal controls to reduce financial risk 
  • Ensure all financial documentation is complete, organized, and audit-ready 
  • Support internal and external audit processes 
  • Identify gaps in accounting processes and implement improvements 
  • Standardize procedures across Dubai and Amman offices 
  • Ensure effective use of ERP system (Maxis Cloud or equivalent) 
  • Support automation and efficiency improvements in financial workflows 
  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve accounting and financial issues 
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and ensure accuracy between entities 
  • Review financial implications of contracts and agreements when required 
  • Support Finance Manager / CFO with financial analysis and insights 
  • Handle escalated accounting issues and complex discrepancies 
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities when required 
  • Perform special projects as assigned by senior management 


Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 6–8+ years of accounting experience (UAE experience preferred) 
  • Strong knowledge of: 
    • UAE VAT regulations 
    • IFRS / financial reporting standards 
    • Full accounting cycle and closing processes 
  • Experience supervising or leading accounting staff 
  • Professional certification preferred (CPA, ACCA, CMA) 
  • Strong ERP experience (Maxis Cloud or similar systems) 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills 
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
