Job Description: Finance Manager

Location: Kuwait (with oversight for UAE operations)
Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)


Purpose of the Role:

The Finance Manager will oversee the financial activities of Kana Group’s diverse portfolio, including Health and Medical services, F&B, E-commerce, Retail, and Salons in both Kuwait and UAE. The role involves financial planning, analysis, reporting, compliance, and strategic advisory to support sustainable growth and profitability across all business lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models for all business verticals.
    • Perform variance analysis to track financial performance against plans.
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.
  2. Strategic Financial Leadership:
    • Provide strategic insights to optimize resource allocation and profitability.
    • Assess financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborate with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  3. Accounting and Compliance:
    • Ensure accurate and timely financial accounting in compliance with IFRS and local regulations in Kuwait and UAE.
    • Oversee tax compliance, audits, and statutory reporting.
    • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  4. Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor the finance team across multiple locations.
    • Ensure continuous professional development and training for the team.
    • Drive a culture of accountability and high performance.
  5. Cash Flow and Treasury Management:
    • Monitor cash flows to ensure liquidity for operational needs.
    • Manage banking relationships and negotiate financing facilities when needed.
    • Oversee payment processes and ensure timely vendor settlements.
  6. Business Unit Support:
    • Work closely with business heads to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
    • Tailor financial solutions for the unique needs of each division (e.g., pricing strategies for E-commerce, cost control in F&B, etc.).
    • Align financial operations with overall organizational goals.
  7. System and Process Optimization:
    • Implement finance-related systems and tools to streamline operations and reporting.
    • Drive process improvements and standardization across the regions.
  8. Regulatory and Stakeholder Management:
    • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
    • Represent the finance department in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS) and regional compliance (Kuwait and UAE).
  • Proven experience in managing diverse business verticals (healthcare, F&B, retail, etc.).
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, advanced Excel).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

  • Achievement of budgetary goals and reduction in variances.
  • Efficiency in cash flow and working capital management.
  • Successful completion of audits and compliance reviews.
