Overview 

This is a full-time role for a Marketing Director who will own and drive Vardot’s overall marketing strategy, with a strong emphasis on AI-powered marketing, digital innovation, and product-led growth. The Director will be responsible for building and leading the marketing function across Vardot’s services and product portfolio—including Varbase, Vardoc, and other Vardot products—ensuring each has a clear go-to-market strategy and compelling market positioning. This role demands a strategic leader who can harness AI tools and methodologies to accelerate content production, optimize campaigns, personalize customer journeys, and drive measurable pipeline growth. The Director will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to expand the marketing team, manage budgets, establish Vardot as a recognized thought leader in AI-driven digital experiences, and deliver impactful results that generate leads and increase brand awareness at scale.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Content Strategy, AI-Driven Content, and Execution:
  • Define and own the content strategy across all channels. Develop and maintain a content calendar for blogs, case studies, landing pages, product pages, and thought leadership pieces—including content that positions Vardot’s products (Varbase, Vardoc, etc.) in the market.
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., generative AI for copywriting, AI-powered SEO optimization, AI image/video generation) to accelerate content production while maintaining brand quality. Write, edit, and publish content that aligns with Vardot’s marketing goals and positions Vardot as an AI-forward technology company.
  • Collaborate with the design, development, and product teams to ensure content is optimized for SEO and user experience, and that Vardot’s product offerings are prominently featured across all marketing touchpoints.
  1. Paid Media, Campaign Strategy, and AI-Optimized Advertising:
  • Set the overall paid media strategy and manage LinkedIn ads, Google ads, and other paid media campaigns. Utilize AI-powered audience targeting, bid optimization, and predictive analytics to maximize ROI.
  • Collaborate with the design and content teams to develop effective ad creatives.
  • Optimize campaigns based on performance data, AI-driven insights, and align them with overall marketing goals. Ensure campaigns promote both Vardot’s services and its product portfolio (Varbase, Vardoc, etc.).
  1. Strategic Partner and Ecosystem Marketing:
  • Own and lead joint marketing campaigns with key partners like Acquia, Drupal Association, and AI/technology ecosystem partners.
  • Leverage Drupal Association Diamond status for marketing opportunities and event sponsorships. Develop co-marketing initiatives that showcase Vardot’s AI capabilities and product offerings to partner audiences.
  1. SEO, Analytics, and AI-Powered Insights:
  • Conduct regular SEO audits using AI-powered SEO tools and implement strategies to improve organic search rankings for both Vardot’s services and product pages.
  • Monitor and report on website performance using Google Analytics, GTM, Clarity, AI analytics platforms, and other tools. Leverage AI to surface actionable insights and predictive trends.
  • Optimize website content for SEO and user engagement.
  1. Website and Product Launch Strategy:
  • Lead the go-to-market strategy for Vardot’s website relaunch and product launches (Varbase, Vardoc, and future products). Collaborate with the web development team to ensure the new website is ready for launch.
  • Prepare and upload all necessary content for the new site.
  • Coordinate launch campaigns, including announcements, social media promotion, and AI-driven personalized outreach to target audiences for each product and service line.
  1. Marketing Operations and HubSpot Management:
  • Create and manage marketing emails, sequences, social posts, LinkedIn ads, and Google ads.
  • Develop and optimize lead funnels, forms, and campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on HubSpot data, ensuring accurate lead tracking and nurturing. Integrate AI-powered lead scoring and predictive analytics to improve conversion rates.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  1. Executive Reporting, Analytics, and AI Dashboards:
  • Generate executive-level reports on the performance of digital marketing efforts, including product marketing KPIs. Utilize AI-powered dashboards for real-time performance visibility.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Present findings to executive leadership and the team, and adjust strategies as needed to drive growth across services and products.
  1. AI-First Marketing Automation and Optimization:
  • Continuously refine and expand marketing automation workflows in HubSpot, integrating AI for smart triggers, dynamic content, and predictive lead nurturing.
  • Implement advanced segmentation and personalization strategies.
  • Stay at the forefront of AI in marketing—evaluate, adopt, and champion new AI tools and methodologies that give Vardot a competitive edge. Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and tools.
  1. Cross-Functional Leadership and Internal Collaboration:
  • Lead cross-departmental alignment between sales, development, design, and product teams to ensure marketing strategies drive business objectives and product adoption.
  • Provide strategic feedback and insights to improve overall marketing effectiveness. Champion AI adoption across the organization and ensure Vardot’s public-facing brand reflects its AI-forward identity.

30-Day Plan: Foundation Building

  • Understand Vardot’s full ecosystem—services, products (Varbase, Vardoc), and AI capabilities by reviewing the brand, audience, product portfolio, and existing digital marketing strategy. Familiarize yourself with the current use of HubSpot, AI tools in use, marketing emails, sequences, social posts, LinkedIn ads, Google ads, lead funnels, forms, and campaigns. Identify opportunities for AI integration across the marketing stack.
  • Audit the current HubSpot setup and AI readiness to identify gaps in marketing automation, lead management, and AI adoption. Start creating and refining HubSpot sequences, marketing emails, and lead nurturing workflows. Evaluate AI-powered tools for lead scoring, content personalization, and predictive analytics. Ensure that forms across all landing pages are integrated with HubSpot for proper data flow.
  • Develop a strategic content calendar for the next 3 months, focusing on blogs, case studies, product marketing content, AI thought leadership, and landing pages. Begin drafting or repurposing content that aligns with upcoming joint campaigns, Vardot product launches, and the new website launch.
  • Meet with key partners and AI ecosystem stakeholders (e.g., Acquia, Drupal Association, AI technology partners) to explore joint campaign opportunities. Review potential ways to leverage the Drupal Association Platinum status and Vardot’s AI positioning in upcoming campaigns.
  • Ensure tracking and AI analytics are in place across Google Analytics, GTM, Clarity, and HubSpot. Set up initial reports for website performance, campaign tracking, and lead generation metrics.

60-Day Plan: Execution & Optimization

  • Launch initial campaigns with AI-enhanced targeting by rolling out the first set of marketing initiatives and content pieces across Vardot’s services and products. Implement the first wave of AI-optimized automated email sequences and lead nurturing campaigns through HubSpot.
  • Run social media posts, LinkedIn ads, and Google ads using HubSpot. Continue refining lead funnels and optimizing forms for conversion.
  • Execute the content calendar by publishing content on the website, focusing on blogs, case studies, product marketing for Varbase/Vardoc, AI thought leadership articles, and landing pages. Work closely with the design and development teams to ensure content alignment with the upcoming website launch.
  • Initiate the first joint campaign with a key partner, monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed. Explore ways to highlight Vardot’s Platinum status and AI capabilities in Drupal Association and industry communications.
  • Plan and schedule the first webinar (ideally featuring AI and Vardot products), including content creation, promotion, and audience targeting. Consider collaboration with partners for a joint webinar if applicable.
  • Monitor ongoing campaigns through Google Analytics, HubSpot, and GTM. Begin regular reporting on website performance, campaign results, and lead generation metrics.

90-Day Plan: Scaling & Refinement

  • Scale successful campaigns and continue optimizing lead funnels and content strategies with AI-driven insights. Implement advanced AI-powered segmentation and personalization in email marketing and automation across both services and product lines.
  • Finalize content for the new website and product pages and ensure alignment with Vardot’s brand, AI-forward identity, and SEO best practices. Continue publishing regularly, focusing on high-engagement content like case studies, product showcases, and AI thought leadership articles.
  • Assess the first joint campaign and plan the next one with improvements based on analytics and AI insights. Leverage Drupal Association Platinum status by contributing to or sponsoring a key event. Position Vardot’s products and AI story prominently in all partner-facing materials.
  • Host the first webinar and analyze its performance to plan future events. Coordinate with the design and development teams to ensure a successful website launch, including a comprehensive marketing campaign that showcases Vardot’s products and AI capabilities.
  • Finalize ongoing reporting structures for SEO, Google Analytics, GTM, Clarity, HubSpot, and AI analytics tools. Present findings to executive leadership and the team, and refine strategies for the next quarter with a clear roadmap for AI-driven marketing growth and product marketing expansion.


Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field. 
  2. 7+ years of experience in digital, growth, or product marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  3. Proven experience in building and executing marketing strategies that drive lead generation, brand awareness, and business growth. 
  4. Strong hands-on experience with AI-powered marketing tools, automation, and analytics. 
  5. Experience managing paid media campaigns, SEO, content strategy, and website performance.
  6. Proficiency in HubSpot, Google Analytics, GTM, and related marketing tools. 
  7. Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills. 
  8. Excellent communication, reporting, and strategic planning abilities. 
  9. Experience in B2B technology, digital agencies, or SaaS environments is preferred.
