Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and creative Executive Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high culinary standards, and maintaining efficiency across all food preparation processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of kitchen management, and a passion for delivering outstanding food experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring food quality and consistency.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to standards.
  • Oversee food preparation, plating, and presentation to maintain excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and food innovation.
  • Monitor inventory levels, control food costs, and minimize waste.
  • Manage kitchen schedules, ensuring adequate staffing and smooth workflow.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to source quality ingredients.
  • Address and resolve kitchen-related challenges efficiently.
  • Foster a positive and disciplined kitchen culture focused on teamwork and excellence.

Basic Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior kitchen role, with at least 2 years as a Sous Chef or higher.
  • Strong knowledge of international and/or local cuisine.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure environments and manage multiple kitchen operations.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene regulations.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic and additional languages are a plus.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in fine dining, banquets, or large-scale kitchen operations.
  • Creativity in menu development and modern cooking techniques.
  • Ability to train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in food production.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
