Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for managing the financial strategy, planning, and operations of Kana Group across Kuwait and UAE. The CFO will provide strategic leadership in financial decision-making, ensure robust governance, and drive sustainable growth through effective financial management, risk mitigation, and capital optimization. The role oversees all finance functions including financial planning, reporting, treasury, tax, audit, compliance, and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and execute Kana Group’s financial strategy in alignment with the overall corporate objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the development of long-term business plans and annual budgets across all business units.
  • Identify and evaluate business opportunities, investment initiatives, and partnerships.

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, forecasts, and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local regulations in Kuwait and UAE.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies across the group.

Corporate Finance & Treasury:

  • Manage capital structure, working capital, and liquidity across all entities.
  • Lead relationships with financial institutions, investors, and funding partners.
  • Optimize group cash flow and implement centralized treasury management where applicable.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify financial risks and establish mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory frameworks in both jurisdictions.
  • Oversee group insurance programs and risk transfer mechanisms.

Operational Efficiency & Cost Optimization:

  • Drive cost efficiency programs and margin enhancement initiatives.
  • Oversee financial systems implementation and digital transformation initiatives to enhance process automation and reporting accuracy.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team across Kuwait and UAE.
  • Collaborate with business heads and department leaders to embed a culture of accountability and financial discipline.
  • Foster a results-driven environment focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent financial certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years as CFO or Group Finance Director in a multi-business group or regional conglomerate.
  • Proven experience in the Kuwait and UAE markets with strong knowledge of regional regulatory, tax, and banking environments.
  • Strong experience in financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, and capital raising.
