An Aircraft Trimmer, or Upholsterer, is responsible for the interior maintenance and repair of aircraft. They perform tasks such as carpet changes, seat repairs, galley repairs, and other soft furnishing work, ensuring that all cabin interiors meet airworthiness standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Interior Maintenance and Repair:
Changing carpets and installing new ones, including laying underlay and fitting.
Repairing and replacing aircraft seating, including reupholstering seats.
Repairing and replacing galley surfaces and other interior components.
Adhering to Standards:
Applying sound engineering practices to all tasks.
Ensuring all maintenance tasks meet airworthiness standards.
Adhering to relevant regulations, company policies, and airport regulations.
Communication and Collaboration:
Effectively communicating actions taken to other team members.
Participating in shift handovers.
Working collaboratively with other production teams.
Quality Control:
Producing work to drawing specifications and procedural guidelines.
Ensuring all parts meet high-quality standards.
Maintaining a high level of service and attention to detail.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience in aircraft interior/cabin work is desirable but not always required.
Knowledge of maintenance standards.
Ability to use aircraft maintenance data.
