Position Summary:

MGIS is an International School with IB certification, where English is the language of instruction. KSA is taught both in Arabic and in English for all students from Grade 4 to 9. The KSA Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that engage students in understanding historical, geographical, political, and social concepts related to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in accordance with the IB philosophy. The teacher will create an environment that fosters critical thinking, promotes global awareness, and encourages students to explore and understand societal issues. The ideal candidate will be passionate about KSA education and committed to helping students develop analytical and reflective thinking skills by studying human societies.

1. Instructional Planning and Delivery

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the KSA curriculum and state/national standards.
  • Teach core topics such as history, geography, economics, civics, and sociology, making connections to current events and global issues.
  • To meet the diverse needs of students, use a variety of instructional methods, including direct instruction, collaborative learning, project-based learning, and technology integration.

2. Classroom Management

  • Create and maintain a respectful, inclusive, and focused classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Set clear expectations for behavior and academic achievement, ensuring students understand and adhere to them.
  • Manage classroom resources, materials, and technology to maximize learning opportunities.

3. Assessment and Evaluation

  • Design and implement assessments, including quizzes, projects, essays, and tests, to evaluate student understanding of KSA concepts.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work, promoting continuous improvement.
  • Track and report student progress, identifying areas of strength and areas needing further development.

4. Student Support and Engagement

  • Offer additional support to students who need assistance, including one-on-one instruction and differentiated activities.
  • Encourage critical thinking, discussion, and inquiry through interactive activities, debates, and group work.
  • Foster an understanding of social responsibility, ethics, and citizenship, helping students connect KSA to their lives and communities.

5. Professional Collaboration and Development

  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan cross-curricular activities and ensure consistency in teaching practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on teaching strategies, KSA content, and educational technologies.
  • Engage in reflective practice, continuously improving teaching methods based on feedback and student performance.

6. Communication with Parents and Guardians

  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences and respond to concerns in a timely and professional manner.

7. Contribution to School Community

  • Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and school improvement initiatives.
  • Promote the importance of KSA by organizing events such as field trips, history fairs, and guest speaker sessions.
  • Uphold the school’s mission, vision, and values in all aspects of teaching and interaction with students.
