Role Overview
As the Sales Manager at Ultra Maritime Service, you will play a key leadership role in driving the commercial success of our Limassol office. You will be responsible for managing the sales team, developing and executing strategic sales initiatives, and fostering long-term relationships with clients. In this role, you will oversee the expansion of our customer base and ensure the achievement of revenue targets, while supporting the growth and visibility of the Ultra Maritime brand in the Cyprus market and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement the sales strategy for the Limassol office in alignment with the company’s regional objectives.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team to achieve and exceed individual and collective sales targets.
- Analyze sales performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and optimize sales effectiveness.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the maritime, shipping, and logistics sectors.
- Build and expand a strong portfolio of clients, focusing on long-term partnerships and customer retention.
- Collaborate with the regional business development teams to ensure alignment and maximize cross-border opportunities.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Understand client needs and develop customized solutions in coordination with internal departments (operations, customer service, finance).
- Negotiate contracts, agreements, and rates in line with company policies and profitability goals.
Market Analysis & Insights:
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and potential risks.
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Recommend new services or enhancements to better serve customer needs and stay ahead of the competition.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer experience.
- Support the marketing team in developing targeted campaigns and promotional activities that align with sales strategies.
Reporting & Forecasting:
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and analyses for senior management.
- Maintain accurate client and pipeline information in the CRM system, ensuring timely follow-ups and updates.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or specialized maritime/shipping certification is considered an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 7–10 years of sales and commercial experience within the maritime, shipping, or logistics industry.
- Proven track record in sales management, leading teams, and consistently meeting/exceeding sales targets.
- Experience managing key accounts and negotiating high-value contracts.
Technical & Industry Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of maritime logistics, freight forwarding, vessel chartering, and international shipping regulations.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, shipping documentation, and global trade practices.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office Suite.
Languages:
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Greek language skills are highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region’s trade routes is a plus.
