Position Overview

The Maintenance Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance and reliability of critical fuel infrastructure within the aviation fuel farm. This includes pumps, valves, filtration systems, meters, hydrant pits, and control systems. The role also involves implementing preventive maintenance programs in accordance with JIG standards and GACA requirements, and responding to mechanical or operational faults to ensure uninterrupted and safe fuel supply to aircraft operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and reliability of critical fuel infrastructure including pumps, valves, filtration systems, flow meters, hydrant pits, and control systems
  • Implementing and managing preventive maintenance (PM) programs in line with JIG standards and GACA regulatory requirements
  • Responding to mechanical or operational faults, diagnosing root causes, and executing corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Conducting routine inspections and functional testing of all mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation components
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, service logs, and equipment histories in compliance with GACA and JIG documentation requirements
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with GACA safety regulations, JIG operational standards, and company HSE policies
  • Coordinating with contractors and external service providers for specialized repairs or equipment overhauls
  • Supervising and leading maintenance technicians, assigning work orders and ensuring quality workmanship (Supervisor level)
  • Participating in GACA audits, JIG inspections, and internal safety audits
  • Supporting emergency response procedures for fuel system failures or incidents in accordance with GACA requirements
  • Managing spare parts inventory and coordinating procurement of maintenance materials
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of maintenance processes and fuel farm reliability

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in maintenance engineering within aviation fuel, oil & gas, or petrochemical operations
  • At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or team lead role (for Supervisor level)
  • Working knowledge of JIG (Joint Inspection Group) standards related to aviation fuel equipment and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with GACA aviation fuel regulations, safety management systems, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining pumps, valves, filtration systems, metering equipment, and industrial control systems
  • Proficiency in preventive maintenance planning and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals
  • Strong analytical and fault-diagnosis capabilities
  • Understanding of HSE management systems and safe work practices in fuel handling environments
  • Experience working within a GACA regulatory framework is preferred
  • Strong communication, coordination, and team leadership skills
