Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our team in Amman, Jordan. The Junior Accountant will play an important role in supporting the finance and accounting functions of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial records, assisting with reporting, and maintaining compliance with local regulations and company policies.

This position is ideal for a young professional eager to grow within a dynamic logistics and shipping environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Record-Keeping:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Process and monitor incoming payments and ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
  • Manage supplier invoices and ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledgers regularly.

Bank & Cash Transactions:

  • Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of cash transactions.
  • Monitor cash flow and report discrepancies to senior management.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and reports.

Administrative & Support Tasks:

  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting records, both physical and electronic.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance team as required.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in accounting or finance are a plus.

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding industry.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply if they have relevant internships or training.

Technical & Industry Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or other ERP systems) is an advantage.
  • Understanding of local taxation and regulatory requirements is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken) is required.
