Role Summary:

The Finance Director is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all financial operations across Kana Group’s entities in Kuwait and the UAE. This role ensures robust financial planning, compliance, risk management, budgeting, and reporting practices are in place to support the Group’s strategic growth and operational efficiency. The Finance Director plays a critical advisory role to the CEO and executive team, ensuring alignment between financial performance and business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of the Group’s financial strategy across all business units.
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate business performance, investment decisions, and expansion plans.
  • Oversee capital structure, funding requirements, and investment policies.

Financial Management & Controls

  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, consolidating data from all legal entities in Kuwait and the UAE.
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and local regulations.
  • Implement and enforce robust financial controls, policies, and procedures.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting processes and long-range financial planning.
  • Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide variance analysis with actionable insights.
  • Develop rolling forecasts to support proactive decision-making.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Optimize cash flow across all business units to ensure liquidity and operational continuity.
  • Oversee treasury functions including bank relationships, cash investments, and foreign exchange risk.

Audit, Compliance & Risk

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, legal, tax, and regulatory requirements in both Kuwait and the UAE.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, overseeing annual audits and implementing recommendations.
  • Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team across locations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance function.

Operational & Commercial Support

  • Support business operations with cost control analysis, pricing strategies, and profitability evaluations.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, and HR to align financial policies and support strategic goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong background in multi-entity, cross-border financial operations (Kuwait and UAE experience preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, local tax regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Proven experience in managing audits, treasury, and budgeting at group level.

Working Conditions:

  • Based in Kuwait with occasional travel to UAE as required.
  • Expected to participate in executive meetings, board discussions, and strategic planning retreats.
