Purpose:
The Energy Engineer role is to drive energy efficiency projects by conducting audits, implementing energy-saving solutions, and ensuring compliance. Also, it focuses on optimizing energy use, managing budgets and timelines, and providing technical support and training to clients.
Responsibilities:
Conducting energy audits at client facilities to assess energy consumption and identify opportunities for improvement, aiming to optimize energy usage and reduce operational costs.
Developing and recommending energy-saving measures (ESMs) and technologies that align with client needs and sustainability goals, providing cost-effective solutions that drive long-term energy efficiency.
Planning and designing projects, including technical specifications, budgets, and timelines, ensuring alignment with client objectives to deliver successful, on-time, and on-budget energy-saving solutions.
Implementing energy management systems (EMS) to monitor and optimize energy usage and performance, ensuring continuous improvement and achieving target energy savings.
Providing technical oversight during project implementation to ensure compliance with client specifications and regulations, guaranteeing that solutions are technically sound and meet project standards.
Coordinating with vendors to source cost-effective equipment and services, ensuring timely delivery and project execution, and maintaining quality while controlling costs.
Conducting cost-benefit analysis to assess the financial impact of energy-saving measures, including ROI, payback periods, and lifecycle costs, ensuring that projects are economically viable and deliver measurable returns.
Maintaining client communication, providing updates on project progress, and addressing concerns to meet energy-saving targets, ensuring strong client relationships and project success.
Monitoring energy performance to ensure energy savings goals are met and identifying further optimization opportunities, maximizing energy efficiency and continuous improvement.
Ensuring compliance with energy regulations and sustainability standards by preparing detailed reports for regulatory authorities, ensuring that all projects meet legal and environmental requirements.
Providing training and ongoing support to clients and internal teams on energy-saving technologies and best practices, empowering stakeholders to effectively manage and maintain energy systems.
Documenting and preparing accurate reports, proposals, and documentation for clients and regulatory bodies, ensuring transparency, clear communication, and compliance with all requirements.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures while promoting high standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and a positive organizational culture.
Experience and Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in energy management, energy efficiency projects, or related fields.
In-depth knowledge of energy-saving technologies, energy management systems (EMS), and energy auditing practices.
Strong understanding of local, state, and federal energy regulations and sustainability standards.
Familiarity with energy modelling software (e.g., Energy Plus, RET Screen, e QUEST).
Ability to perform energy calculations, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI assessments.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with vendors, contractors, and external partners.
Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, lighting, electrical, etc.) and energy management strategies.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
