Overview
A Senior Product Owner will lead the project from discovery to delivery through requirements management, managing client expectations, collaborating with designers and developers, analyzing the competitive landscape, and defining the product deliverables. This dynamic role involves proactive client engagement, recommending site enhancements, gathering feature requirements, scheduling new releases, and managing client priorities.
Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Oversee the lifecycle of multiple Drupal projects, from estimation, planning, and UX/UI design through to execution, development, QA, launch, and post-launch support.
- Manage and coordinate work packages, ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and are completed within timelines.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Team Coordination:
- Perform UAT for all deliverables to confirm they meet requirements before client presentation.
- Involve appropriate team members at necessary stages to guarantee successful project execution.
Backlog Management:
- Populate, prioritize, and maintain a comprehensive backlog of features, enhancements, and fixes based on project and client needs using tools like JIRA, spreadsheets, Basecamp, and design assets.
Sprint and Release Oversight:
- Actively participate in sprint planning, review meetings, and retrospectives.
- Provide feedback on sprint deliverables through tickets on JIRA.
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of product release plans, setting clear expectations for the delivery of new functionalities.
Client and Project Understanding:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of each client's organization, goals, and objectives to tailor solutions effectively.
- Ensure a shared understanding among project stakeholders of the vision, goals, and requirements.
Drupal and Product Knowledge:
- Gain a comprehensive non-technical understanding of Drupal to propose the best solutions for projects and clients.
- Act as a product ambassador, internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions related to the product.
Asset and Specification Management:
- Identify, manage, and recommend reusable assets for product enhancement and efficiency across projects.
- Develop detailed product feature specifications to ensure clear understanding and implementation by development teams.
Problem-Solving and Client Engagement:
- Proactively identify and mitigate any roadblocks to successful team completion of release/sprint goals.
- Engage with clients throughout the project lifecycle, building positive relationships and acting as the primary point of contact.
Improvement and Innovation:
- Recommend improvement features and creative solutions to enhance project growth, ensure client satisfaction, and foster contract renewals.
- Assist in evolving project baselines and update project data as necessary to comply with processes and meet client requirements.
Department Responsibilities:
- Recommend improvement features for established projects, coordinating with other departments to apply Vardot’s processes and ensuring the ability to comply with client requirements.
- Assist in evolving and adjusting project baselines as per the policies to best serve the interest of both; the client and Vardot.
- Work and update project data on different systems adopted by Vardot, such as JIRA, Google Drive…etc
- Responsible for helping projects’ design, technical & QC teams in the application of Vardot project management methodology, tools, and processes on the assigned projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Business Administration, Computer Science, or any IT-related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst working with IT projects.
- PMP, CAPM, Agile Certifications, or any Project Management Related Certificate is nice.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proficiency in modern web development (HTML5, CSS, Javascript, PHP).
- Experience with any web CMS, but Drupal is a PLUS. PMP, CAPM, Agile Certifications, or any Project Management Related Certificate.
- Experience in project management, especially within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
