Job Title: Senior Accountant 

Department: Finance 

Reporting To: Accounting Supervisor / Finance Manager 


Role Overview 

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in overseeing accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial data, and supporting strategic financial decision-making. This role involves leading reconciliations, supervising junior staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving improvements in financial processes across Dubai and Amman operations. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded 
  • Review and approve RVs, PVs, and JVs prepared by accountants 
  • Lead and finalize monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes 
  • Perform and review complex reconciliations (bank, intercompany, credit cards, POS, and cash) 
  • Ensure proper reconciliation and reporting of intercompany transactions between Dubai and Amman 
  • Review accounts receivable aging and enforce collection strategies 
  • Supervise vendor account reconciliations and resolve escalated discrepancies 
  • Oversee tracking and resolution of non-invoiced services and accruals 
  • Ensure all financial documentation is properly maintained and audit-ready 
  • Review contracts and financial commitments for compliance and risk 
  • Prepare and review tax returns and ensure compliance
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations 
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on performance and cost control 
  • Improve and streamline accounting processes and internal controls 
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff 
  • Prepare and review management reports, including: 
    • Financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) 
    • Monthly closing reports 
    • Variance analysis reports 
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities when needed 
  • Perform strategic and ad hoc assignments from Finance Manager / CFO


Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • 4–6+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of: 
    • Tax regulations 
    • IFRS / financial reporting standards 
    • Month-end and year-end closing processes 
  • Professional certification preferred (CPA, ACCA, CMA) 
  • Advanced ERP experience (Maxis Cloud or similar systems) 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Leadership ability and experience supervising staff 
  • High level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
