Job Purpose:
The Fiber Optic Technician is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic networks to ensure reliable and uninterrupted telecom services. The role involves performing fusion and mechanical splicing, cable laying, termination, and troubleshooting of fiber optic systems across various OSP and ISP environments
Key Responsibilities: 
Perform fiber optic splicing (fusion and mechanical) for single-mode and multi-mode fibers.
Conduct fiber termination at ODF, FDB, JFP, cabinets, patch panels, and customer premises
. Test and certify fiber links using OTDR, Power Meter, and Light Source.
 Identify, troubleshoot, and rectify fiber faults such as high attenuation, fiber breaks, and incorrect splicing.
 Maintain proper splicing enclosures, joint closures, and ensure accurate labeling and documentation. 
Perform fiber cable laying through ducts, trenches, manholes, and overhead routes.
 Assist in trenching, backfilling, and site reinstatement activities as per project requirements.
 Pull fiber cables manually or using cable pulling machines while ensuring safety compliance.
 Ensure correct bending radius and tension limits are maintained during cable installation.
 Follow company safety standards and telecom industry best practices during all site activities.
Qualifications & Skills: 
ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related technical field.
 2–5 years of hands-on experience in fiber optic splicing and cable installation.
 Strong knowledge of fusion splicing machines and fiber testing equipment (OTDR, Power Meter).
 Ability to read and understand fiber route drawings and schematics.
 Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
 Ability to work in outdoor and field environments.
 Basic English reading and writing skills.
