We are looking for a qualified Data Center Mechanical Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical and HVAC systems within a data center environment.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water cooling systems, fault finding, maintenance, testing and commissioning, and cooling efficiency improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform HVAC fault finding, troubleshooting, maintenance, service, and repair activities.
• Support the operation and maintenance of chilled water cooling systems, chillers, AHUs, fans, coils, and condensing units.
• Analyze cooling system performance and identify design or operational issues.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance findings, and recommendations.
• Perform mechanical calculations, including heating and cooling load calculations.
• Advise and guide technicians or junior staff on HVAC fault rectification and technical solutions.
• Support cooling and energy optimization initiatives within the data center environment.
• Maintain the chilled water cooling system efficiently and ensure reliable system performance.
• Attend and conduct client meetings to understand job requirements, project updates, enhancement works, and owner expectations.
• Support project review meetings, FM activities, testing and commissioning, and enhancement works as required.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Data center experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC within a facilities management environment, or testing and commissioning experience.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Technical Requirements
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC fault finding, maintenance, service, and repairs.
• Experience in the service, maintenance, and repair of chiller machines and general air conditioning systems.
• Good knowledge of chilled water cooling systems.
• Operation knowledge of HVAC equipment, including air handling units, fans, coils, and condensing units.
• Ability to analyze cooling system design issues.
• Ability to perform mechanical calculations and develop technical requirements.
• Proficiency in writing technical reports.
• Good knowledge of cooling and energy optimization.
• Ability to guide junior staff and technicians on technical matters.
