Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Restaurant Captain to oversee the dining area, ensure smooth service operations, and provide an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of food and beverage service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the service team to ensure seamless dining experiences.
  • Greet guests warmly, escort them to their tables, and assist with menu selection.
  • Ensure proper table settings, cleanliness, and overall restaurant presentation.
  • Take and relay orders accurately, ensuring special requests and dietary preferences are met.
  • Monitor service flow, address customer inquiries, and resolve any complaints professionally.
  • Train and mentor junior waitstaff, ensuring adherence to service standards.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely food and beverage delivery.
  • Manage reservations and seating arrangements to maximize efficiency.
  • Uphold health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Assist in upselling menu items and promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and revenue.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Hospitality Management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fine dining or high-end restaurant, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in luxury hospitality or Michelin-starred restaurants.
  • Knowledge of wine pairing and food presentation techniques.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and restaurant reservation software.
  • Ability to handle VIP guests and special event coordination.
