Job Title: Driver 

Department: Transportation / Operations 

Reporting To: Transportation Supervisor / Operations Manager 


Job Summary 

The Driver is responsible for transporting clients, guests, and employees safely, comfortably, and on time while complying with traffic laws, company policies, and approved safety procedures. The role also includes maintaining the assigned vehicle, completing daily inspections, reporting defects or incidents, and delivering a professional standard of service that reflects the company positively. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Transport clients, guests, and employees safely and punctually to assigned destinations. 
  • Review trip schedules and operational instructions before commencing work. 
  • Verify trip details, including passenger names, collection times, locations, and destinations. 
  • Select appropriate routes and monitor traffic conditions to minimize delays. 
  • Comply with traffic laws, speed limits, and road-safety requirements. 
  • Drive carefully and responsibly, considering road, weather, and traffic conditions. 
  • Ensure all passengers wear seat belts before moving the vehicle. 
  • Refrain from using a mobile phone while driving, except through legally permitted hands-free methods when necessary. 
  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol, medication, or any substance that may impair concentration or driving ability. 
  • Comply with approved driving and rest-hour requirements and report immediately when feeling fatigued or unfit to drive safely. 
  • Conduct a daily pre-trip vehicle inspection, including tires, brakes, lights, fluids, mirrors, seat belts, and emergency equipment. 
  • Ensure the vehicle contains a first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, warning triangle, spare tire, and other required safety equipment. 
  • Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the vehicle. 
  • Monitor maintenance, registration, insurance, and license-renewal dates and notify the direct supervisor in advance. 
  • Report any defect, damage, or dashboard warning indicator immediately. 
  • Never operate an unsafe vehicle or continue driving when a defect may endanger passengers or other road users. 
  • Accurately record trip details, mileage, fuel consumption, expenses, and departure and arrival times. 
  • Retain and submit receipts for fuel, parking, tolls, and other approved expenses according to company procedures. 
  • Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, loading, and unloading luggage when required. 
  • Treat clients and guests respectfully and courteously and maintain a high standard of service. 
  • Protect the confidentiality of passenger and trip information and refrain from sharing it with unauthorized parties. 
  • Never allow an unauthorized person to drive or use the company vehicle. 
  • Do not change the route or add unauthorized passengers or stops without approval. 
  • Maintain communication with the Operations team and report delays, changes, or issues affecting the trip. 
  • Respond appropriately to accidents, vehicle breakdowns, and medical emergencies in accordance with the emergency-response plan. 
  • Secure the incident location, contact emergency services or the police, and notify the direct supervisor immediately when required. 
  • Refrain from admitting liability or making commitments on behalf of the company at an accident scene. 
  • Prepare a complete and accurate report regarding any accident, traffic violation, complaint, or unusual occurrence. 
  • Report traffic violations immediately and comply with any resulting responsibilities under company policy and applicable law. 
  • Follow fuel-efficient driving practices to reduce fuel consumption, emissions, and unnecessary vehicle wear. 
  • Comply with company policies, standard operating procedures, and safety and security instructions. 
  • Attend required training, medical examinations, driving assessments, and safety programs. 
  • Perform other transportation or operational duties as assigned. 


Qualifications & Requirements 

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driving license appropriate for the class of vehicle being operated. 
  • Previous professional driving experience, preferably within the tourism, travel, or hospitality sector.
  • Good driving record with no serious traffic violations. 
  • Good knowledge of local roads, areas, airports, hotels, and major tourist attractions. 
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle inspections, road safety, and minor breakdown procedures. 
  • Ability to use maps, navigation systems, and location applications. 
  • Strong punctuality and trip-scheduling skills. 
  • Good communication and customer-service skills. 
  • Professional appearance and appropriate conduct at all times. 
  • Ability to remain calm and responsible under pressure, in heavy traffic, and during emergencies. 
  • Physically and medically fit to perform the requirements of the role. 
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required. 
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage. 
  • Successful completion of a medical examination, driving assessment, and driving-record verification before employment.
