The Warehouse Officer is responsible for managing a team of warehouse operatives to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe warehouse operations. This includes overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, inventory control, and maintaining a productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management:
•Supervise, train, and provide guidance to warehouse staff.
•Delegate tasks to team members and ensure targets are met.
•Monitor team performance and conduct appraisals.
•Motivate the team to meet productivity goals and maintain high standards of performance.
2.Daily Operations:
•Oversee the receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
•Ensure all orders are processed efficiently and accurately.
•Monitor stock levels and coordinate with inventory control teams.
•Implement and maintain systems to manage stock and minimize wastage or shrinkage.
3.Safety and Compliance:
•Ensure all warehouse activities comply with health and safety regulations.
•Conduct regular safety checks and enforce safety procedures.
•Manage the maintenance and inspection of equipment, such as forklifts, to ensure safe operation.
4.Inventory Control:
•Oversee stock movements, including goods-in and goods-out.
•Perform regular stock checks, audits, and reconciliations.
•Investigate any stock discrepancies and report findings to management.
5.Process Improvement:
•Identify areas for improvement in warehouse processes and workflow.
•Implement strategies to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
•Collaborate with management to introduce new technologies and systems as required.
6.Communication and Reporting:
•Liaise with other departments (e.g., logistics, procurement, customer service) to ensure smooth operations.
•Prepare reports on warehouse performance, stock levels, and operational issues.
